Some of these cell phone concepts obtain many futuristic features that don’t yet exist.

Glance Phone Concept

Glance is a personal project in which I have been working this summer. Starting from the idea that nowadays our mobile phone is also our clock, calendar, email service, instant messaging and social networks. And, it’s common you have to get our cell phone out of the pocket, just to know the time or how many new mails have arrived. Glance’s intention is to avoid taking out your cell phone when you just want to know its current status.

Multimedia Concept Phone

Designer Jakub Lekeš tries to push the limits of phone designing with his concept. The phone sports a touchscreen interface; even the keys are touch based. As you guessed it, it’s a slider that features a running display of sorts, even on the outer rim. I suppose this comes on when you switch the MP3 player on, and the runner gives you the song details etc. There are several ports to one side of the phone, hinting that you can hook it up to several other devices.

Concept Phone “Mobile Script”

A contemporary mobile phone must maintain suchfunctions, as: mobility, constant Internet access, access to the documents, games and to give the best possibilities and means of communication andcontact.

Bend Mobile

The Bend Mobile concept by Andy Kurovets gives us the possibility to have two screens in one phone. The design is also something quite interesting, having an interesting but not exaggerated shape.

Motorolla Piccolo Concept Phone

‘Piccolo Concept 1′ is inspired by Motorola phone. The phone concept is sexy and sleek and it is known to be the female oriented device. Its stunning feminine shape adds to its style. The glossy look of Piccolo concept 1 sets it apart from the entire collection of models. But it’s yet to be seen how this mobile phone functions in reality.

Yuxa wearable cellphone made from plant fibers and biodegradable plastic

Designer Tao Ma has designed an inimitably different concept phone that has got the looks of a bracelet. The shiny gizmo vibrates when you receive a message and you can read the text by taking the bracelet off the wrist and pressing its precious looking keys.

Alienware Android Phone Concept

The combination of Alienware’s gaming features and the flexibility of the Android platform is somehow the ideal phone for a gamer. However, as cool and interesting it might look, it is not likely that it would ever be created.

Kyocera’s Flexible, Folding Phone Concept

Kyocera’s EOS folding concept phone incorporates a flexible OLED screen, changing its form factor from a clamshell into something more closely resembling a wallet or clutch-purse.

LG Traveler Concept Phone

Created by Andrew Zheng, the handset is a thin slider with a touch screen on board and a physical button keypad. The unusual shape of the LG Traveler phone was created for better grip and this aspect gets enhanced. Thanks to rubbers grips on the side.

Nokia Morph Concept Phone

‘Nano Technology is the future’. Most of us have been hearing this chant for long. But how is this technology important or what are its real implications? Nokia may have an answer in its new Nokia Morph concept phone.

Blackberry Empathy

This Blackberry Concept is different from the usual Blackberry phones that you see on the market, starting from the shape and ending with its innovative functions like translucent tactile keyboard, flexible OLED screen, double sided screen and slide-out keypad.

Eclipse Intuit Phone

Check out the Eclipse Intuit Phone by Eddie Goh. It’s got all the basic stuff we’ve come to expect from our mobiles; powerful 5 megapixel camera with built-in software for editing and uploading to a photo album, slide-out touch keyboard with tactile feedback, and a nice big touchscreen front and center. What makes this concept unique is parts of the phone are made from a chemically based thin solar skin to charge the battery when exposed to any kind of light. We’ve recently seen patents from companies like Apple detailing this exact thing. It would seem the technology is viable and Eddie Goh isn’t too far off.

Blue Bee Concept Phone

Kingyo created a very interesting handset interface, dubbed the Blue Bee, that also comes with an appealing and very slim smartphone. As you can see, the UI looks a bit like the Windows Mobile 6.5 interface and it requires a large touchscreen to operate and there’s no need for any physical button, at all.

Black Label Retroxis

Although this concept was made a few years ago, it still looks pretty good, having a classy look and a more realistic design than others on this list.

The Kambala Ear-Phone

The Kambala is a mobile phone that transforms to an earphone as well. Pop the center piece and the earpiece clip pings out; clip this to your ear and you got a phone-earphone! Multilayered Polymer which hosts all the electronic components is used in its construction. A continuous flexi-screen with plenty of sensors makeup the surface and it has the ability to transmit the image on the inside of the phone to the outside.

LG Flutter Concept Phone

The Flutter was an entrant for LG’s recently concluded Design the Future contest that encouraged users to come up with concept designs. This design didn’t win the competition, though it did manage to grab the Prop Master’s Choice Award.

Concept Phone with Projector

This phone is the gadget you need if doing presentations. You could save a lot of space with it and hold presentations almost wherever you want.

NEC’s “Tag” Phone Concept

An intriguing concept from NEC Design, this Tag Soft-Shell Mobile Phone shows how cumbersome carrying a phone in your pocket can be. Made of rubbery “shape-memorizing” material, the tag will bend and twist at your command.

Motorola Sparrow Concept Phone

The Motorola Sparrow concept was conceived to provide retail stores with a mobile point of sale device to solve increased service demands from consumers while decentralizing the check out point, i.e. pay and get out as fast as you can. The device combines a scanner, point of sale (POS) system, RFID, communication and credit card reading capabilities into one mobile device

Finger Touching Wearable Mobile Phone

A wearable mobile device for enhanced chatting. It introduces a new wearable device that anyone can communicate with that is easier and lighter in mobile circumstances corresponding to the 3.5G, 4G communication standard. Human hand is the most basic communication method. For easier and simpler controls, it uses the instinctive input method “finger joint”. Excluding the thumb, each finger joint makes up twelve buttons, with “the knuckle button”, using the cell phone’s 3X4 keypad, likely being the most popular input method.

LG Helix Bracelet Phone

Designer Rob Luna created an LG concept phone called Helix, a device that can also be used as a slap bracelet worn on the owner’s wrist. LG Helix comes with flexible circuits, a touch screen display and the concept device is made out of rubber and black stainless steel. You can attach the handset to the belt, through a magnetic charger and use the kinetic energy generated by the user to power up the cell phone.
