8 Pictures of the World’s First Skateboard House

Skateboarders around the world would love to bring their hobby into their home, in Malibu, California, The Skateboard House did just that! The Skateboard House in the project of a private resident. He wanted to build a home which would enable skating in any area – indoor and out. We’ve gathered 8 Pictures of the World’s First Skateboard House!

Pierre Andre Senizergues is the client and creator of this project. Originally a former World Champion and Pro Skater and the founder of Etnies. The prototype of PAS House was recently presented at La Gaite Lyrique museum in Paris. The floors and walls of this beautiful home are curved to allow skateboarding and offer a industrial, modern interior style home.

The house is divided into three separate spaces. The first one includes the living room, dining area and kitchen, the second one includes a bedroom and bathroom and the third one a skateboard practice area.

Each space is skateable as the ground becomes the wall then the ceiling in a continuous surface forming a tube of a 10ft radius. The furniture is also skateable, whether it is integrated in the curve like the sitting area, the kitchen or the bathroom or just as standing object like the dining table, the kitchen Island or the bed.

Brooklyn’s Old Clock Tower Transformed Into Penthouse

An iconic clock tower which stands a top One Main Street in New York was recently renovated and transformed in a million-dollar modern penthouse. Brooklyn’s Clock Tower is located in the trendy DUMBO (down under the Manhattan bridge overpass) neighborhood. Originally built by Cardboard manufacturers the building is part of an old industrial building and was transformed into a penthouse by David Walentas, the man behind the DUMBO project.

The magnificent building is approx. 6,813 square feet penthouse and showcases a 360 degree view of the city which overlooks the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhatten. The penthouse is a three story building and has 3 giant clocks installed in 14 foot high round windows in each wall.

The penthouse of the Clock Tower building entered the market in 2009 as the most expensive condo in Brooklyn, listed for $25 million – till then, the most expensive apartment on record had cost a mere $11 million. The realtors, however, have been unsuccessful in selling the Clock Tower penthouse, and it’s now down to $18 million. Have you got that amount of cash to spare? Most of us can only dream!

A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other large permanent surface. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture.

Some wall paintings are painted on large canvases, which are then attached to the wall (e.g., with marouflage). Whether these works can be accurately called “murals” is a subject of some controversy in the art world[who?], but the technique has been in common use since the late 19th century.

Photographic Murals can bring a room alive with their eye catching photos. I should confess I haven’t used Wall Murals before, but I would love to try it myself!
