Poet’s Walk, Central Park, New York, USA

A walkway leading to the beautiful Bethesda Terrace, the Central Park Mall runs through the middle of the Park from 66th to 72nd street. In summer the leaves are green and arch over the Mall. It remains the sole formal feature of Olmsted and Vaux’s naturalistic creation. To the north of the Mall lies the Terrace Bridge, while the Olmsted Flower Bed is located directly south of the Mall.

The Literary Walk, also known as Poet’s Walk can be found situated at the southern end of the Mall. Poet’s Walk in Central Park contains statues of such well known and revered literary figures as William Shakespeare, Sir Walter Scott, and Robert Burns among many others.
