Kilchurn Castle is a ruined 15th and 17th century structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. In summer vibrant greens adorn the grassy slopes above the castle and the still waters of Loch Awe. The castle and it’s natural surroundings are a scene of glorious wonder and hard to equal beauty, Equally stunning in all seasons of the year and especially in Summer and in Fall.
Kilchurn Castle was built in about 1450 by Sir Colin Campbell, first Lord of Glenorchy, and it started life as a five storey tower house with a courtyard defended by an outer wall.
