Approximately in the year 1500 an additional range and a hall had been added to the south side of the castle. Further buildings went up during the later years of the 1500’s and 1600’s greatly expanding the reach of the castle walls and perimeter. All ancient castles are normally scenes of rugged beauty but few are as dramatically enhanced by nature as Kilchurn Castle.
As the Autumn months slowly fall across Kilchurn Castle the rich greens of summer give way to strong orange and brown colors, truly magnificent designs of nature that reflect their beauty in the glassy waters of the adjacent loch.
