Gapstow Bridge, New York, USA
[/tps_title]
This bridge in New York is covered with green leaves and completely mirrored in the still waters of the river below. The summer brings light green and yellow leaves to the surrounding trees in this completely awesome vista of a bridge over water. Gapstow Bridge is actually situated in Central Park within New York City.
Curving gracefully over the neck of the Pond at 59th Street, Gapstow Bridge is one of the most iconic bridges of Central Park in New York. It is actually the second bridge on the site.
The first bridge was a much more elaborate wood and iron bridge, designed by Jacob Wrey Mould. However it deteriorated and was replaced in 1896. Here Gapstow Bridge seen halfway through the year is bright summer green.
