We’ve all seen Anti Smoking Ads at some point in our lives. They leave us with a disturbing image making us want to turn away. Anti Smoking ads are very common in today’s world, we never think of the creative time that went into making them. At the end of the day anti smoking ads are suppose to achieve one goal, making people quit smoking.

Smoking is a very addictive habit and most people find it difficult to quit, these anti smoking ads create an awareness about smoking which smokers will usually keep in the back of their minds when they light up a cigarette.

Personally I think these anti smoking ads are very effective, they put fear into the viewer and the results can be quite disturbing!  Beside that the creativity in these ads are brilliant and very interesting to view from an advertising perspective.

Some facts about smoking:

1. About 8.6 million people in the U.S. have at least 1 serious illness that’s caused by smoking.
2. For every person that dies from a smoking-related disease, there are 20 more who suffer from at least 1 serious illness associated with smoking.
3. The CDC estimates that adult male smokers lose an average of 13.2 years of life and female smokers lose 14.5 years of life because of smoking. And given the diseases that smoking can cause, it can steal your quality of life long before you die.
4. Smoking is the cause of 1 in 5 deaths in the U.S. annually. And tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death.
5. In 2012, 18.1% of Americans, 18 and older, were current smokers.
