On a farm in the west of France there was a historical collection of 60 classic cars which had been untouched for 50 years. The classic car collection dates back to the 1930’s and includes sports motor cars and other vintage car gems. Such a find has raised awareness in the Vintage car community with it’s beauty and amazing find, the 60 classic cars are said to be worth at least £12 Million.
You may be interested to know who owned this collection. It belonged to the late Roger Baillon who was an entrepreneur. He collected cars from the 1950s to the 1970’s which he had plans to restore them and display them in museums. However his plans didn’t go too well as he had to sell 50 cars from his collections – making he vintage car go from over 100 down to 60. After his death, his son inherited his vintage cars, but he passed away last year.
After many forgotten years, his 60 classic cars collection were discovered by the owners’ grandchildren and the collection is now estimated to be worth over £12 Million.
The Baillion Classic Cars Collection will be put up for auction on February 6, 2015 in Paris. The 60 vintage cars will be available for preservation and restoration while another 40 of the cars will be sold for spare parts.
