7 Fire Paintings: Artist Draws With Flames And Soot

Canadian artist, Steven Spazuk creates Fire Paintings using candle soot to draw beautiful artwork. He deposits soot on his media with a candle or torch and etches lines and patterns using pencils and feathers.

This method of painting took Steven 14 years to develop and perfect his Fire/Soot painting technique. The process always has some improvisation and an element of randomness when he is creating.

I particularly love how his fire painting are so bold with the black and white contrasts, the eye to details is also stunning with the bird fire painting, the way he has etched the texture of the feathers is quite beautiful.
