Inexpensive Luxurious Touches to Add to Each Room of Your Home

Not everyone dreams of owning a luxurious home, but for many of those that do, this may only be a dream. Luxurious homes tend to be larger, have backyard pools and hot tubs, walk-in closets in the bedrooms, spa-style bathrooms, and maybe even a theater/entertainment room. Homes with these features tend to start at $500,00 and can be worth up to millions of dollars.

Fortunately, there are ways to make your current home look and feel more luxurious without having to break the bank on costly remodels and renovations. Here are a few examples of luxurious touches for each of the main rooms in your home.

Living Room/Entire House

Vinyl Doors and Windows

What can be more luxurious than opening your sliding glass doors to step out onto your patio? Or if you don’t have a patio, what about a grand entrance for your living room or family room? Vinyl doors can be sliding, they can open inward or outward if you have the space for it, and you can replace your front door with a vinyl door.

Vinyl doors are some of the most cost-effective and luxurious-looking doors you can add to your home. Vinyl is durable and won’t corrode, plus it’s a great insulator: it keeps the heat out in the summer and the cold out in the winter. You can also replace your windows with vinyl windows to get the full benefits of vinyl as an insulator.

Kitchen

Kitchen Island

A kitchen island can definitely be considered a luxury kitchen item, and it’s also a functional one. A simple kitchen island (and probably the least expensive island) will provide some storage space and extra seating— which is much needed in many kitchens. Simple kitchen islands like this start at around $600, which is a very good price for a minor renovation.

However, a more luxurious kitchen island can easily run into the thousands and well over $5,000. A more “luxurious” kitchen island may include things like a stovetop and/or oven or a sink and dishwasher. It all depends on what you need and what will be most useful for you. To save money, make sure that your island can be easily installed into your kitchen without having to do any other renovations.

Bedroom

Bedrooms are for sleeping, so the best way to create a luxury sleeping experience is to invest in luxury bedding. Luxury bedding doesn’t have to break the bank, but it should provide a comfortable experience and a better night’s sleep. Starting with sheets, cotton sheets are typically the most comfortable and most affordable type of sheets you can choose. As for blankets and comforters, everyone will have a different preference, and you probably switch up the material throughout the year according to the season.

However, even the best sheets and blankets in the world can’t make up for a bad mattress. Unfortunately, there’s no universal mattress that will suit everyone’s needs, as everyone has different needs and should choose a mattress based on their individual needs.

Bathroom

Garden Bathtub

Garden bathtubs are deeper and wider than your standard bathtub, and they can be free-standing or attached to a wall. Some garden tubs can be as low as $500, while others can range into the thousands. This depends on the size of your garden tub, the materials it’s made with, and anything extra you may add on— like a shower head.

Of course, if you add a shower head (assuming that your garden tub is attached to the wall), you’ll need to hand a shower curtain. This means that you’ll also need a rod and a shower curtain track set, so this will add to your cost as well. Still, a cozy corner garden tub/shower is a nice touch of luxury for a bathroom.

As for the outdoors, installing an in-ground pool in your backyard definitely counts as a luxury, but can easily cost you anywhere from $28,000 to $55,000. In this case, you’d probably want to go with a luxury above-ground pool. These are much more affordable, ranging from under $1,000 to over $5,000.

These small renovations and decor upgrades can seem affordable or expensive, depending on your budget. Just keep in mind that these are some of the cheaper options compared to some of the more costly options. Many of these upgrades can also save you money in the long run and help make life more convenient and enjoyable for you.
