Snowfall Turns Grand Canyon into Winter Wonderland

New Year’s Eve brought in an whirl of snow and turned Grand Canyon into a winter wonderland overnight, the snow covered all of the Grand Canyon landscape with a blanket of snow. These wonderful photographs were share by the Grand Canyon National Park Service, showing the magnificent sights of the iconic location.

The well known signature colors of the Grand Canyon layered rock were somewhat obscured by the snow leaving for a stunning sight to see. As the clouds hang low in the ravine, the snow added some extra beauty to the scene.

On January 1, 2015, a winter storm continued to escalate which accumulated a total of 4 inches of snow in northern Arizona. This freezing start to 2015 left mountain roads icy and slick in the Grand Canyon, but this didn’t deter visitors from visiting the national park which left them with quite a rare and spectacular glimpse to see!
