These Animal Lollipops Look 100% Real & Alive! By Young Japanese Master Keep 1200-Year-Old Tradition Alive

Making realistic lollipops has been a Japanese tradition since the 8th century. Shinri Tezuk is a young master at making the famous, Amezaiku, which is the art of making realistic animal lollipops.

Producing this type candy isn’t cheap or pain free, these artists have to endure painful heat when creating these animal lollipops by hand! This old tradition is kept alive by the few Amezaiku artists who have learn’t the craft.

This Japanese artist has now opened his own shop in 2013 called, Ameshin. He sells these realistic animal confectionery for 1000-2000 yen (8-17 USD) as well as teaching courses for those who want to learn Amezaiku. This candy is made from sugary syrup and starch along with organic coloring.
