Olympus Air A01 Available in the US in July for $300
Olympus’ innovative Atmosphere camera was announced back in February, but up to this point it has been a Japan-only merchandise. Not anymore: today Olympus announced that the Air A01 will be around in the United States beginning in July for $300.
In case you missed hearing about this camera the first time around, it’s an unusual device that’s essentially a camera body that lacks a screen and looks more like a lens. Thanks to its wireless connectivity, you can pair it with a smartphone to have the phone act as the user interface and live view.
Built-in Amazon Cloud Drive integration lets you directly access photos and videos you’ve stored in your Cloud Drive account and back up your photos on the go as they’re being created.
Other specs and features include a 16-megapixel MFT sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a silent electronic shutter, 10fps continuous shooting, full HD video, USB charging, a dedicated app, RAW capture, and a battery life of 320 shots per charge.
You’ll be able to pick up the Air 01 starting in July 2015 in white or black varieties for $300 if you buy the camera only, or $500 if you’d like a 14-42mm EZ kit lens included with it.
