Scottish missionary and famous world explorer of Africa, David Livingstone (1813-1873) discovered these awesome waterfalls. David Livingstone named the falls after Queen Victoria, the ruling monarch at the time.

Livingstone who was the first European to travel across Africa from the south of the continent to the north, discovered this magnificent waterfall in the year 1855. Victoria Falls has been attracting visitors ever since.
