The SS America ran into a nasty storm in 1994 and wound up near the shore of the Canary Islands. It was first built in the 1940s and used in World War II. In fact, two Nazi spies were aboard the ship, which lead to the discovery of the Duquesne Spy Ring. There were 31 spies in the ring and all were convicted in the US.
