Pearl Shoal is one of the most majestic sights to behold in Jiuzhaigou Valley. It is located in Rize Gully which is found in China, at a height of 2433 meters high. The powerful flowing water cascades and crashes into the spectacular Pearl Shoal Waterfall.
The Pearl Shoal waterfall is a wide, gently elevated area of rocks over which a thin sheet of water cascades down a 21 degree gradient slope.
The falls drop down for 28 meters over a wide 310 meter sheet of water. It is possible to cross part of the Pearl Shoal. A wooden pathway can be used to lead across the shoal and down one side to the base of the waterfalls.
The Pearl Shoal Waterfall gained their title from the sparkling effect of water droplets. In the falling water these droplets resemble pearls as they cascade down the shoal towards the fall.
