Brendan James Fraser was born on December 3, 1968, in Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduation, he found a small role in River Phoenix’s Dogfight (1991), and several other minor roles. Fraser was given a big movie role called “Encino Man”, in 1992. Even though there weren’t a lot of lines to the movie, this role opened a lot of doors for him. After Five more years of supporting work, he earned the lead role in George of the Jungle (1997). Fraser says this role altered his career.
Towards the end of the decade, he saw a lot of success within movie roles. He starred in movies like “George of the Jungle”, “Blast from the Past”, and “The Mummy”. Fraser also appeared in the other “Mummy” films, as well. He took a break from the spotlight, and he would reappear in 2010, with the movie “Furry Vengeance”. He has not appeared in a Hollywood movie in about two years, with his last film being “The Nut Job”.
Fraser did gain some weight in the process, he said, “I still need to get closer to the StairMaster to lose that paunch. I’m doing good, though.” Fraser admits that it’s harder once you get over 40 years old to lose the weight, saying that “Once you get there, it’s not easy getting back…I’m gonna be 42 in December, and I can’t just stop living.”
