Fortunately, elephants are not known to attack humans often. These gentle giants tend to remain peaceful and there are three different species in the word today: two African (the bush and forest elephants) as well as the Asian elephant. All three species grow to be quite large, with most males reaching 13-feet tall and over 15,000 pounds.
