The Wave, Arizona

[/tps_title]

The Wave is a sandstone rock formation that has been streaked into various patterns (owing to wind erosion). The multi colored bands are a result of metals oxidizing. The stone, Calcite further enhances the beauty of the rocks.

For taking pictures visitors will be interested to learn that the Wave is best photographed midday while the sun is high in the sky. This is so as to minimize the extensive shadows.
